Overview
Codex Pets is a gallery for animated pet packages that work with the Codex app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what happens when you browse, install, like, or submit a Codex pet.
Information We Collect
Account information
If you sign in, we may store account details such as your name, email address, avatar, user ID, and profile settings. This lets you submit pets, manage your submissions, and access account pages.
Pet submission data
When you submit a pet, we collect the files and metadata needed to review and publish it, including:
pet.jsonspritesheet.webporspritesheet.png- ZIP package
- Pet name, slug, description, tags, kind, and vibe labels
- File hashes and visual fingerprints used for duplicate checks
- Submission status, rejection reason, and review signals
If approved, the pet page, package URLs, creator credit, and public metadata may be visible to other users.
Usage data
We may collect basic usage information such as page views, searches, likes, installs, ZIP downloads, browser information, approximate request metadata, and timestamps. This helps us maintain the gallery, rank popular pets, detect abuse, and improve the site.
CLI data
If you use codex-petkit, we may process login tokens, device authorization codes, and CLI requests such as whoami, submit, or install-related calls. CLI tokens are used to connect your local CLI with your Codex Pets account.
